Visit to GSF Office by HE Amb. José Luis Remedi

HE Ambassador José Luis Remedi, Ambassador of the Republic of Uruguay to Qatar came to the GSF office to meet the staff and learn more about its operations. In a discussion with the Project Coordinator and Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Dosari, Director, Department of Public Relations and Marketing of the QOC , the Ambassador was briefed on the work carried out by the GSF in various countries and plans for the future, including preparations for the Doha youth camp in December 2009. Mr. Luis Remedi shared information on his experience working in drug prevention and concurred with the efforts being made by UNODC and the QOC to keep youth away from drugs, using sport to teach youth social skills in their spare time.
During the tour, the Project Coordinator explained some of the stories represented by the photographs. Amb. Luis Remedi expressed a desire to know more about the work of the GSF and mentioned his keen interest to see how this programme could be introduced to Uruguay. Before his departure, the Ambassador signed the GSF flag in keeping with the tradition of high level visitors to the GSF.
